New York, New York!
We LOVE the big apple!!
Claire had her first airplane ride- she did lovely and was very popular on the flight, entertaining everyone around us. Who can pass up those cheeks and that little munchie face?
We went back east to visit Tami and her cute family in D.C.. Claire got to spend a couple of days with Tami and her cousins so Bruce and I could venture to NYC sans bebe.
It was so fun! I love that city! We saw the sites in a whirlwind and walked our tails off, or at least a partial amount of the calories we consumed!
mmm... NY cheesecake (thanks to the food network for highlighting Junior's famous cheesecake, and yes, it was as good as they say), sushi, pizza, hot dogs, pastries, magnolia bakery....
isn't traveling all about the food?!

The highlight was going to the Lion King. It was amazing!! AMAZING.
After much shopping around we scored some killer orchestra seats and were so close to the stage. Like, I made contact with a gazelle and the cheetah. We felt like they were singing to us, I literally saw them spitting as they talked and sweating under the lights.
This proved to be one of our favorite pictures of the trip:
We asked a cute little lady to take it. Turned out she was from somewhere else and didn't understand English. She looked slightly confused, pointed the camera towards us without looking through the screen and shot the pic, then handed our camera back without ever saying a word. We were laughing so hard.
I love the architecture and all the beautiful details in New York.

welcome may
i love this month.
today I looked out my window and saw white floating flakes and didn't know if it was snow or blossoms blowing.
luckily it was the second, but how sad that I had to ask the question!
such is Spring time in Utah.
nevertheless, i love may.
i love the spring weather and the way the parks come alive
i love green grass and freshly mowed lawns
i love the blossoms... holy cow, i love the blossoms!
i love the thought of planting a garden
i love thinking about eating fresh garden fruits and veggies
i love running outside
i love that summer is right around the corner
i love light early mornings and longer days
i love sunshine
may celebrations... oh yes, there are reasons to celebrate this month!

um, she's a girl...
So, in just 4 days, Claire was mistaken for a little boy 4 times!
And everytime she was wearing a dress with either purple or pink as some part of her outfit.
I know she looks just like her papa but the cute little female version, right?!!
if they only knew how far she's come:

yes, calling all punk-rock, mullet/rat-tail lovers: you have another follower!
or it also kinda reminds me of a colonial Washington-style white wig with a pony.
I never thought I'd be a parent in hair denial. Although it's only partial hair denial because I know it's bad and something should be done, but I somehow can't bring myself to cut it! She has been sporting this bald+tail nastiness for a while now.
Bruce wants to shave it all, I've become attached thinking it'll just fill-in in no time.
It's proving me wrong.
